The Waterfront Walk/Run for Heart and Stroke, in its 15th year, which took place this year on July 11, 2010, at Zwicks Park was once again a success thanks to our volunteer committee and office staff, the day-of-event volunteers, our very generous sponsors and prize donors from the community, and the 131 participants who came out to support our event. Our teams, runners and walkers fund raised over $14,000 this year that will be used to help eliminate heart disease and stroke through the advancement of research, advocacy, health promotion and education in our communities.
We would like to acknowledge and thank Michael Brethour who took time to cover the event for the EMC, as well as promote the event through his numerous interviews with our volunteers, participants and staff. Michael, you have always supported us by writing beautiful, touching articles to spread the word on heart disease and stroke as well as attend our events throughout the years. Thank-you for your support and effort.
We would also like to give a big thank you to Susan St. Hilaire who supports this event every year by assisting and providing advertising in the EMC. You have always been very helpful and we truly do appreciate everything you and the EMC have done for us.
We look forward to working with the EMC again!
